Article 1

The 43rd Cursa El Corte Inglés is a race on foot, open to everyone, and held on Sunday 7th of May 2023. Registration is free.

Article 2

The route, certified by the Catalan Athletics Federation, is 10 km long through the streets of Barcelona. The start is on Avinguda Diagonal 617 at 9.00 a.m. Starting position and exit order must be respected by participants. The finish line will be in Plaça Catalunya and will close at 11:30 am.

Article 3

The race is open to people of any nationality, federated or not. Each runner participates in this athletic race at his or her own risk and has a sufficient level of physical fitness to take part in the race.

Article 4

There are two means of participation:

1. Yellow chip athletes

  • Registration:
    Online only: before midnight on Sunday 30 April or until 8,000 registrations are reached.
  • Numbers, assigned according to the accredited mark, will be collected between Wednesday, April 26 and Saturday, May 6, 2023 (except on April 30 and May 1, which are public holidays), on the day and time chosen at the registration form, at the El Corte Inglés shops in Portal de l'Àngel and Avinguda Diagonal.
  • The start is designed by boxes. Each box is accessed according to the number and colour of the race bib. The entrance to the corresponding box will be on both sides of the central roadway of Avenida Diagonal.
  • The minimum age to participate as yellow chip is 16 years.
  • The yellow chip boxes cannot be accessed by any kind of wheeled equipment (baby strollers, handbikes, wheelchairs, etc.).

2. Remaining participants (chipped bib)

  • Registration:
    Exclusively online: until midnight on Sunday 30 April. Runners registered must collect their numbers between Wednesday, April 26 and Saturday, May 6, 2023 (except on April 30 and May 1, which are public holidays), on the day and time chosen at the registration form, at the El Corte Inglés shops in Portal de l'Àngel and Avinguda Diagonal.
  • The exit line will be entered through lane 6, located after the lanes with participants owning yellow chip. The entry to lane 6 will be on both sides of the central road of Avinguda Diagonal.
  • People with reduced mobility, baby strollers or other wheeled devices must take the last positions to the rear of the starting point of Avinguda Diagonal.


Article 5

All participants must wear their corresponding bib tag on the chest.

Article 6

Minors can only participate with the authorisation of one parent/tutor and under their responsibility.

Article 7

There are 4 timing controls: at the start, at the finish, at km 5 and at the turn for Ausiàs March street. If any participant does not pass through the control points, he/she will be disqualified. All participants who start and finish the race will receive a digital diploma accrediting their time (as long as they have all the controls between the start and finish). 

Article 8

There will be an individual general classification, awarding prizes to the first 3 classified in the men's category and to the first 3 classified in the women's category. For the classifications, time will be taken into account in order of finish.

Article 9

The only vehicles authorised to follow the race will be those of the organisation.

Article 10

The organisation of La Cursa El Corte Inglés is also supported by the sports and municipal authorities, the Guardia Urbana, Voluntaris 2000 and the Creu Roja. El Corte Inglés and the rest of the collaborating entities will not be held responsible for accidents or illnesses contracted or injured during the Race, nor for any damages that may be suffered by participants or third parties.

Article 11

The El Corte Inglés Race will comply with all the preventive measures against COVID-19 contagion in force at the time of the race.

Your data is processed in order to manage your registration in La Cursa El Corte Inglés, as well as organise the sporting event. By registering you are accepting the rules by which this sports race is governed.

The legitimate reason for processing your data is your request to participate in La Cursa El Corte Inglés. The sending of communications about future editions of La Cursa El Corte Inglés is based on the legitimate interest of El Corte Inglés in promoting participation in the event.


In some cases, we contract technological companies to develop the website for La Cursa El Corte Inglés, so they may store and process your data in order to manage the event. Likewise, it is necessary for us to communicate or transfer the information with which you provide us to third parties, to be able to provide you with the service you request, for example to logistics, transport and delivery, or printing companies. Participation in La Cursa El Corte Inglés assumes the authorisation of El Corte Inglés, S.A to use recorded images (videos) and photographs taken during La Cursa, as well as the names, surnames and times of participants for advertising and/or promotional activities related to La Cursa and its future editions, in any media or format (including printed adverts, television, radio or the Internet), within a worldwide territorial scope, for an indefinite period and free of charge.

Decision making regarding the exhibition of media that includes these images, photographs, names, surnames or times will be the exclusive responsibility of El Corte Inglés, who will make such decisions based on its own needs.

These images, photographs, names, surnames or times will not be used for any other objectives other than those stated, and will not be transferred to any third parties for any use other than the aforementioned.

Article 13

This regulation is subject to possible changes according to health and/or governmental indications and restrictions.

Article 14

Participation in this race implies the acceptance of these rules and any resolutions taken by the organisation in cases where the aforementioned rules were not taken into consideration.
