La Cursa El Corte Inglés reaches its 44th edition on Sunday 5th of May, and consolidates the circuit of this popular race through the most attractive streets of Barcelona.
The start at 9.00 am, right in front of El Corte Inglés Diagonal, is organised according to the estimated time of the runners who this year participate entirely with a dorsal chip. It is a fast 10-kilometre circuit approved by the Federació Catalana d’Atletisme, entirely urban, which maintains its essence and runs through streets such as Passeig de Gràcia, Aragó or Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, with the finish at Pl. Catalunya.
The Fundació Catalana d’ELA Miquel Valls (Catalan ALS Foundation), is the social organisation supporting the 44th Cursa El Corte Inglés. The organisation has chosen this foundation because it is the only organisation that accompanies people affected by ALS and their families in Catalonia, and supports research into this neurodegenerative disease.
Registration for the Cursa El Corte Inglés is now open and is exclusively online. You can register through the website cursaelcorteingles.cat until the 33,000 race bibs available run out. The collection of the bib number will take place at El Corte Inglés de Portal de l’Àngel (ground floor) and Diagonal (2nd floor) from 25 April to 4 May. As a new feature, those registered before 12 April will be able to personalise their race bib and pick it up at the shop selected on the registration form. To date, more than 14,000 people have formalised their registration, which are added to the more than two million participants who have taken part in the forty-three editions of this event, which maintains the fact that it is free of charge as its main value.
This new edition of the Cursa has counted on the testimony of opinion leaders from the world of sport, cinema and music who have given their selfless support to the race: ex-footballer, ex-coach and person affected by ALS, Juan Carlos Unzué, FC Barcelona football player Robert Lewandonsky and RCD Espanyol player Javier Puado, singer Miki Nuñez, actress and winner of the MasterChef programme Laura Londoño, FC Barcelona football player Sandra Paños and RCD Espanyol player Carolina Marín.
Make a gesture for ALS
The Fundació Catalana d’ELA Miquel Valls is the only organisation that provides care for people affected by ALS and their families throughout Catalonia. It also supports research so that, in the future, the disease will be curable. The Foundation was founded in 2005 by its president, Mr. Enric M. Valls, whose father died years before due to ALS and who gives his name to the entity.
The entity works to improve the quality of life of all people suffering from this neurodegenerative disease. It does so through the implementation of its own model that contemplates an integral vision, through professionals specialised in the disease.
The Foundation provides multidisciplinary and comprehensive care for people affected by ALS and their families. These services are offered throughout Catalonia and reach the homes of those affected, as well as the specialised ALS units of the reference hospitals. These accompaniments are carried out by social work, occupational therapy and psychology professionals. In addition, the organisation also has a Bank of Support Products, which has more than 2,500 materials that are loaned when required. The entity also leads other projects such as the Mutual Support and Help Groups or Telemedicine.
In 2023, the Fundació Catalana d’ELA assisted more than 500 people affected by ALS and their families. The organisation encourages participants in the44th Cursa El Corte Inglés to make a gesture for ALS by purchasing the La Cursa solidarity T-shirt to raise funds for the foundation.
TMB takes you to the Cursa

Individual travel tickets will be made available to runners and will be given out while stocks last. Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona is the main public transport operator in Catalonia and a benchmark company for citizen mobility in Europe and the world.
